Come experience Africa as we live it!

We specialize in dangerous game, as well as all South African plains game safaris and wing shooting. We will exceed all our client’s expectations and finish off their safari by already planning the next one!

Join Africa Maximum Safaris in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique or Tanzania for a trip of a lifetime! Our exclusive hunting safaris to these destinations specialize in carefully tailored packages for discerning sportsmen and -women. Whether it is a family safari, hunting the Big 5, our 45 other different species, a non-hunting photographic, bird-shooting or fishing safari, we’ll provide that special touch which Africa Maximum Safaris is so well known for.

On many occasions while hunting you will see an abundance of game as well as all the different types of fauna & flora in the area, giving our clients picture perfect photo opportunities.

Our concession areas make up a combined total of 380 000 acres.

To accompany you on every hunt we take snacks and refreshments to keep you well hydrated and energized during your hunt.

We have our own exclusive hunting concessions in South Africa in the North-west Province. We are fortunate as the area where we hunt offers our clients most of the species that are available throughout South Africa as it is a combination of bushveld, highveld and middelveld habitat systems. We tailor hunting packages to suite our clients safari needs, whether it involves Big 5 safaris, plains game hunts or bird hunts.

At Africa Maximum Safaris we are dedicated to make your African Trophy Hunting Safari a memory of a lifetime.

We recommend using RiflePermits to assist with the rifle-import process.

They are a company that works hand in hand with the South African Police Service to assist international travellers with all the import permits they will need to temporarily import their rifles into South Africa.

If you are using to handle your firearm import permits, the agent from Rifle Permits will also be there and will assist you at the police station to clear your fire arms.

The procedure works as follows:

  • The SAPS clearance office, where we will pick up and clear your rifles, is situated outside of customs.
  • To get to the SAPS office, where you will pick up your rifles, you must first clear customs, collect all your luggage and exit into the general meeting area.
  • We will be waiting in the "general meeting area" with your name on a signboard. Please be on the lookout for us.
  • Please note that your ammunition must be in a lockable ammo box packed in your check in luggage to enter into South Africa, this is per South African Police regulations!

You will then depart from the airport to your camp.

Your trophies will be prepared in the camp, ready for transportation to the taxidermist, who will make them ready for export.  Africa Maximum Safaris will deliver the raw trophies to the taxidermist of choice or export agent.  From here the liability of the trophies is with the other party.  We will check on the progress and notify the client.  All services rendered for taxidermy work or export preparation is between the client and the chosen company.  Africa Maximum Safaris does not accept responsibility.  Please keep in mind that in Africa, the paperwork for the export of trophies takes some time to get finalized, as the authorities are not very consistent.  Rules change on a regular basis, which can result in delays.

We recommend Splitting Image Taxidermy as our dip and ship agents and also for taxidermy work. We have had a very good relationship with them for  14 years. Over 400 of our clients have had their trophy taxidermy done with them. We will supply a reference list from past clients on request.

AMS recommends Splitting Image Taxidermy for outstanding trophy quality, delivered to your doorstep.

You can contact Splitting Image Taxidermy at
Website: for prices or quotations on dip and ship and taxidermy work.

Trophy Shipping: US customs require each hunter to ship their trophies separately. In cases where hunters ship their trophies under one persons name the responsibility will fall on the clients/ hunters if the trophies are confiscated in the US.
